JV girls top Riverside, improve to 7-5
Marlee Henson scored six points and Shayne Cheatham added four to lift the Greybull Lady Buff JV to a 14-8 win over Riverside in a two-quarter game Thursday in Basin.
“Two quarter games are always tough for the girls to get things going, but after a win two nights earlier against Riverside’s C team, we just decided to finish the JV game where we left off with that game,” said Coach Nate Boyer. “We like to remind the girls that anytime you can apply what you have learned in practice, whether it’s during a two-quarter game or a four-quarter game, it makes them stronger fundamentally as a player as well as learning the natural flow of the game.”
The JV girls are 7-5 heading into the final two weekends of the regular season. “We have shown plenty of growth especially with our sophomores,” said Boyer. “They have shown our freshman the importance of knowing the plays and applying them to game situations and going strong on both ends of the court.”
