The Lady Buff JV racked up two wins last week, falling only to Tongue River.

Tuesday night, the Buffs hosted Riverside for the annual Pink Night game, which Greybull won 25-12 and 25-11.

On Friday, JV matched varsity in a win over Shoshoni, 26-24 and 25-20.

“Shoshoni was a tight match and the girls had to play hard to come out with the win,” coach Christine Armel said. “I saw lots of aggressive serving on our end which helped with our success in the matches.”

Fallon Hoffman and Ella Keisel swung hard from the outside for the Buffs, and Avery Allen and Nathalie Diaz-Rios put up a strong middle block.

Saturday, the Buffs lost a tough battle to Tongue River in three sets: 25-21, 21-25 and 9-15.

“By the third game, we struggled in serve-receive and just couldn’t find our way out of the hole. Regardless, the girls had a successful weekend and I felt they learned a few things along the way,” Armel reported. Diaz-Rios led in serves with Rhianna Gaytan holding up defense.

On Friday, Oct. 10, the Lady Buff JV plays Wind River at 2 p.m.

“I am excited for Wind River and it being homecoming and looking forward to their continued growth,” Armel said.
