Landowners tell council they want out of town

A small group of landowners told members of the Greybull Town Council on Monday night they intend to explore the annexation of their properties into the county as a way of avoiding town regulations that they perceive to be excessive.
Darrell Cooper, Charlie Thomas and Thomas Templin own a combined 225 acres on the western edge of town limits.  Their properties are in the same general area, with the industrial /business park to the south, the railyard to the east, the cemetery to the north and BLM land to the west.
Cooper’s property, which at 209 acres is by far the largest of the three, is currently zoned for agriculture uses, while the 10-acre Thomas property and the 6-acre Templin property have no zoning designations.
All three property owners voiced concerns at Monday’s meeting.
