Greybull Middle School’s girls basketball teams will attend their conference tournaments later this week.

“It has been a fast and furious season,” Coach Becky Eichelberger commented.

The last game of the regular season was held in Greybull on Nov. 24, where the Buffs took on rival Rocky Mountain. The match was fast paced, but the Buffs stood strong on defense, holding Rocky to 21 points, an improvement from an early-season game where the Griz put up 34.

“It is fun to see the growth that each player has achieved. We really saw that growth against Rocky, our girls were seeing their teammates and getting some good fast break opportunities,” Eichelberger said.

The Buffs’ A team fell 21-15, B team 37-19 and C team 33-6. Despite the loss, the Buffs will look ahead to their end-of-season tourneys with a refined level of play.

“I really see the team play coming together at the right time. Hopefully at the tournament we can continue to connect and make those fast break transitions and stops on defense,” Eichelberger said.

The A Team will travel to the Big Horn Conference tournament in Cowley on Saturday, Dec. 6, with game times TBA. Everybody else will head to Burlington’s B/C Jamboree, also on Saturday and also with times TBA.
