With three individual champions, Greybull-Riverside outpointed its three closest pursuers and finished second at a tournament held Friday afternoon at Buff Gym.

Thermopolis ran away with the team title, collecting 313 points across the boys and girls divisions. G-R was next with 137, followed by Shoshoni with 120, Tongue River 119.5 and Rocky Mountain 115.

G-R’s three individual champions included a pair of Nybergs -- Kaysen, in the boys 98-pound division, and Kaislee, in the girls 119-129 division — and Delta Craft, who was tops at 107-114.

In other girls results, Harper Juneau (131-136), Jordan Potter (154-172) and Tatum Triplett (71-73) captured second place while Ryan Whisenant (96-100) and Sophia Wilkinson (119-129) took third.

On the boys side, Irving Rodriguez placed second at 120; Ashtun Winkler (77), Haakon Craft (126), Quaide Houchin (120) and Sawyer Triplett (138) earned third; Noah Blakley took fourth at 132; Jayden Waddell (126) and Parker Callier (91) were fifth and Jayden Winkler (132) and Trenton Lowe (84) were sixth.

G-R followed up on Saturday with a strong performance at a tournament in Powell. With more big schools in the field, G-R finished ninth, beating only Rocky Mountain and Lovell.

But several young grapplers, particularly on the girls’ side, performed well.  Delta Craft and Tatum Triplett both went undefeated, winning titles at 109-114 and 63-71, respectively.

Other placers included Whisenant, who was second at 98-105; Nyberg, second at 119-129, and Potter, fourth at 171-181.

Kaysen Nyberg, Noah Blakely and Quaide Houchin were G-R’s only entries in the A division.  Nyberg went 3-1, finishing second at 98.  Blakely, 2-2 at 132, and Houchin, 1-2 at 126, placed fourth.

B division standouts included second-place finishers Ashtun Winkler (73-74), Haakon Craft (122-125), Jayden Winkler (122-128) and Trenton Lowe (78-79); third-place finishers Jason Torres (114-116), Jayden Waddell (118-121) and Sawyer Triplett (132-138), and fourth-place finishers Parker Callier (89-91) and Irving Rodriguez (115).
