MS teams reach end of regular season
Greybull Middle School’s A and B teams went a combined 3-1 in games last weekend against Meeteetse and Shoshoni.
Coach Cadance Wipplinger said the A team, made up primarily of eighth graders, routed Meeteetse, 38-20, in a Friday afternoon home game but lost a heartbreaker the next day to Shoshoni, 27-25, in a game played in Burlington.
“We lost to them the first time, too — but just barely,” said Wipplinger. “I proud of the boys, though. We had the lead most of the game. We just let the press get to us a little bit at the end.”
Tate Carney’s B team had a far easier time, routing Meeteetse, 50-4, and Shoshoni, 45-8.
The C team coached by Jonathan Cauffman lost its only game, falling to Burlington.
The final weekend of the regular season will see the boys play in Burlington at 4:15, 5:15 and 6:15 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 8), host Riverside at 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Friday and play in Ten Sleep at 10 and 11 a.m. Saturday.
The conference tournaments are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, with Burlington hosting the eight graders and Greybull the seventh graders.
