New scam involves false claims about unpaid parking tickets
The Wyoming Judicial Branch (WJB) has become aware of a text message scam targeting members of the public with false claims about unpaid traffic tickets.
The WJB has received multiple reports from individuals who were contacted via text message and instructed to pay outstanding traffic tickets by the end of the week. The messages include a suspicious link—similar to https://wyocourts.gov-paynd.win/us —which leads to a fake website designed to look like an official state page. The fraudulent site includes the Wyoming Judicial Branch’s name and phone number and prompts users to enter personal and payment information to submit a $6 fee.
This message did not originate from the Wyoming Judicial Branch. Court communications will never direct individuals to third-party links or request payment via text message.
Anyone who receives such a message is advised not to click on the link or provide any personal information. If you have questions about court fines or legitimate payment procedures, please contact your local court directly or visit the official Wyoming Judicial Branch website.
If you believe you may have fallen victim to this scam, please report it to the Wyoming Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Unit at https://ag.wyo.gov/cpu/home or call (307) 777-6397.
