No resolutions for me, but ...

And a Happy New Year to all. May 2025 be a year of renewal ... of hopes, dreams and aspirations.
It seems to me that there is a new spirit in America, a reaching out. We can all hope so, anyway. And it is about time.
I take back my statement about not making any resolutions. I hereby resolve that in 2025 I will spell ‘”women” the same way I have spelled it for nine decades. I may fail the third-grade spelling bee, but I refuse to spell women, “womyn.” I thought I had heard the wokest of woke ideas. I am waiting for them to say we will now spell “female” as femail. I could go on forever with that game but will quit while I’m ahead.
For those who are deep into making resolutions, good for you. Go for it.
Instead of making resolutions, perhaps we all should just resolve to be a little better, a little kinder, a little more tolerant every day. See how long we can go without finding fault with something or someone.
If there is someone out there who has made a New Year’s Resolution and kept it for 365 days, let me know. I want to interview you for my column
Just have a good year. Live life to the fullest. Enjoy every day. Live every day as if it’s your last day on earth. Make it memorable.
If we all try hard enough, it might become a wonderful new habit — a habit that we don’t need to break.
So here’s to friends and neighbors - have a Happy New Year.
