Online auction in support of Shell Fire starts Nov. 10

Lisa Kunkel and Sherie Barber hosted host the Shell Valley Women’s Coffee on Thursday, October 3 at the Kunkel home. Those attending: Veda Gerrard, Mary Beth Cochran, Karen Hayes, Diana Saam, Linda Vandersnick, Jade Smith, Kristy Cushing, Madeline Cole, Anna Graham, Monette Wilcox, Hannah Stinson, Ann Hanson, Rachel Wilcox and daughters Fallon and Malen. 

The next Women’s Coffee will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, at the home of Liesa Barnum, 3215 Road 39, east of Greybull. Mary Beth Cochran will co-host with Liesa.  Watch for a bright green kid figure with an orange flag on the north side of the highway. Follow the road until you see a painted wooden coffee sign on the entrance to your right. The coffee begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends about 11:30 a.m. If you would like, please bring something yummy to share. Be sure and bring a neighbor and friend. The Wild Roses Garden Club met Oct. 10 in the Fellowship Hall behind the Shell Community Church to enjoy their annual pumpkin painting/decorating event. Everyone had a great time creating their “masterpieces.”

Garden club members will meet again on Thursday, Nov. 14 in the Fellowship Hall behind the Shell Community Church where they will make holiday wreaths or arraignments using natural materials they have gathered close to home. The meeting begins as 12:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend, and you are welcome to bring a friend. Please bring the foliage and other items you have collected and any other decorative items you wish to use.  For more information, please call Jade at 307-431-6471 and leave a message. It’s almost time for The Shell Valley Volunteer Fire Department’s Forth Annual Online Auction. Be sure to check it out starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 through 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16. at www.32auctions.com/shellvfdauction2024. They have some wonderful donations this year, so be sure to check it out. All funds will go to help the Shell Fire Department.

The second “Welcome to Shell” sign has been placed on the east side of town. Be sure to look for them when you are going or coming back from the mountains.

Tonight is Halloween so be sure to watch for kids trick-or-treating when you are driving after dark.

If you haven’t already voted, be sure to do so on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Every vote matters.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! So many people are unable to be with family or friends during the holiday. If you are able, be sure to set another place or two at your table and invite someone you know will be alone to join you.
