Patriot Guard to escort body of late Army Specialist Eibert

The body of Army Specialist Anthony Eibert is getting a Patriot Guard escort from Colorado Springs, Colo., to Basin, where he will be remembered during a funeral service Saturday, Nov. 1.

Eibert, 27, died Oct. 15, 2025, while serving his country at Fort Carson, Colo.

He was a career military man, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, including tours in Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates, before joining the U.S. Army, where he served for five years until his death.

A complete obituary, updated from the version printed last week, is included in this week’s issues of the Standard and the Republican Rustler.

Bryant Funeral Home, which is coordinating Eibert’s services, announced that the transport of Eibert’s body, with Patriot Guard escort, was expected to begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Colorado Springs.

The funeral home expects the escort to arrive in Basin between 7 and 8 p.m., at which time, an army team will conduct an honorable transfer.

On Saturday, the procession is scheduled to depart Worland at 1:30 p.m., again with a Patriot Guard escort, and arrive at the Basin Rec Center shortly after 2 p.m.  Another honorable transfer will follow as the casket is brought into the building for the service at 3 p.m.

After the service, the American Legion and Patriot Guard will stand guard holding flags while the Army team performs a 21-gun salute.
