A climate survey that was taken earlier this fall by more than 130 students and 60 family members of students revealed some deterioration in their overall perceptions of Big Horn County School District No. 3.
The climate survey was discussed at a board work session earlier this month and then again, briefly, at the Dec. 12 meeting of the school board. It was comprehensive in nature, covering a wide range of topics. With the guarantee of confidentiality, all stakeholders — not only students and their families, but also educators and education service providers — were invited to participate.
At the high school level, 88 students were surveyed, down from 108 last year. At the middle school, 53 were surveyed compared to 94 last year.
