The Lady Buff JV ended the season with a 25-19, 25-16 win over Shoshoni. The team has nearly matched varsity’s success all year, with increasingly competitive play throughout the season.  The Buffs stand at 16-7 overall, with four split tournament games.

“The girls have made huge growth this year with having to learn rotations and how to move to play defense,” Coach Christine Armel said. “Each girl has improved tremendously in their serving, serving low to the net and aggressively.”

Against Shoshoni, Avery Allen was a force at the net with strong, aggressive attacks, joined in her success by serving champions Fallon Hoffman and Angela Myers. Armel noted that the freshman class —Joey Boyer, Kaylee Cervantes, Josie Collingwood, Lovely Araiza, Reagan Vigil and Ella Keisel — has been a vital part of the JV program’s success as they stepped into their roles on the team.

“This was a hard-working group, and it showed in each game they played. It will be exciting to see them next year and continue in their growth in the game as well,” Armel said.
