Something deeply sad struck me as I studied the stories of the men from Big Horn County who paid the ultimate price in World War I. It’s hard to imagine that more than a century has passed since that global conflict, long enough that no one alive still remembers them personally. Today, they exist mostly as names etched in stone on weathered memorials and brief mentions in history books.
