Two Buffs earn all-conference
Greybull High School juniors Carter Jacobs and Caden Hunt have been named to the Class 2A all-Northwest Conference boys basketball team.
The Buffs finished 8-15 overall, fourth in league play with a 1-5 mark and came up short in their bid to make the state tournament, going two-and-out at the Class 2A West Regional.
Jacobs, a forward, led the team in scoring, averaging 12.4 points per game, and rebounding, with 5.6 caroms per contest.
Hunt, a guard, was the team’s top 3-point threat, sinking 31 on the year. He was also the team leader in assists, with 76, and steals, with 67.
Conference champion Thermopolis led the way with five first-team all-conference selection, including player of the year Cody Bomengen, Del Dukes, Zak Hastie, Brody Potter and Ellis Webber.
In addition, Thermop’s Shane Corpening was selected as the conference coach of the year.
Rounding out the squad were Bryce Haslem, Tucker Jackson and Cole Minchow of Rocky Mountain and Quinton Clark and Lane Kasper of Shoshoni.
No Buffs were selected to the all-state team this year.
