Last Wednesday, Oct. 23, Prairie Puffs opened its doors to downtown Greybull. The vape store, owned and operated by Oscar Garay and Cynthia Gomez, is the latest business to open on Greybull Avenue.

The shop sells vapes, tobacco pipes, and water pipes for more advanced smokers. In addition, Prairie Puffs carries vape juice, batteries, backup cartridges and other accessories.

The pair took their cues from their friends and the broader community, beginning their research months ago.

They asked people they knew about what they liked to smoke and their preferred brands. The shop’s current stock is a reflection of those initial conversations and they plan to bring in additional products to meet demand.

“We’ve had people ask us for cigars,” said Garay. “We have to do some research, but it would be cool to eventually bring some cigars in as well.”

In addition to cigars, 0mg nicotine cartridges for vapes have been requested by locals trying to quit smoking permanently.

Garay and Gomez explained that they chose to open a smoke shop to meet local demand. “There [wasn’t] one here,” Garay explained. “We wanted to open a store to meet the need locally. Everyone [was] driving so far.”

“People were excited,” Gomez added. “They were driving [to Cody and Worland] to get that one thing they needed. That’s the one thing everyone keeps saying when they come in, that they’re excited we’re here.”

Prairie Puffs is now open in downtown Greybull at 522 Greybull Avenue. Regular business hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

New product announcements and other information can be found on their Facebook page, Prairie Puffs.
