USDA designates Big Horn County as primary natural disaster area

THERMOPOLIS (WNE) — The United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency has extended emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts.

Local coffee shops join Wyoming missing people cold case project

 If you go to the Wyld Sage Coffee House or SunJoy in Greybull, your coffee sleeve may have a photo on it. The photos are from cold cases of people missing in Wyoming. One Big Horn County case is B. Danell Bennett, who went missing in July of 2021. Her vehicle was found near the Crystal Creek Rest Area in the Bighorn Mountains.

Kaden Lungren and Scotty Flitner of Shell welcomed baby girl Wyn Veda Lungren, weighing 6 lbs 15 oz, 19 inches in length, Wednesday, April 22 at 6:38 p.m. at Powell Valley Healthcare. Grandparents are Vance and Kim Lungren and Greg and Pam Flitner.

Ross and Kaitlyn Davidson of Burlington announce the birth of their daughter Paisley Diana Davidson, weighing 8 lbs 13 oz, 20 inches in length, at 6:52 p.m. on Friday, May 1at Powell Valley Healthcare. Paisley will join siblings Madison (13), Mark (9), Hyrum (7) and Elsie (5). Grandparents are Anne Davidson and the late Mark Davidson and Kathy and Tim Bresee. 

Shell Canal Company problems persist

The friction between roughly 140 Shell Canal Company shareholders and their board members (who are also shareholders) has intensified over the last few months. Several key issues including transparency, board control and water mismanagement have escalated to the level of district court.
