As a reminder, two main routes in the Bighorn National Forest, the Old Highway Road 18 (Powder River Ranger District) and the Dugway Road 213 (Medicine Wheel Ranger District), are closed annually in November. 
Both routes are now closed and will re-open in the spring.
“The main reason for the closures is to provide mule deer and elk winter range,” said Andrew Johnson, Bighorn Forest Supervisor. “It is critical that we work together to reduce the stress on these animals during the winter.”

SHERIDAN (WNE) — Extra costs and frustrating delays can be avoided by only ordering official Wyoming birth, death and other certificates directly from the Wyoming Department of Health, according to department officials.
“We frequently receive complaints from people who have used companies that misrepresent themselves as a way to easily get birth certificates and other official documents,” said Guy Beaudoin, deputy state registrar with WDH Vital Statistics Services.

GILLETTE — The state wants to hear from communities about why they should be the ones to host a proposed shooting complex. It also wants to hear how those communities think the facility should be managed.
The State Shooting Complex Oversight Task Force met in Cody recently to go over the timeline of the selection process, which will take place in 2024.
“We want the local groups to have skin in the game,” said Rep. Art Washut, R-Casper, who co-chairs the task force with Sen. Larry Hicks, R-Baggs.

Many well-intentioned people feed wildlife under the assumption it will ensure their survival through winter.
